Unlike traditional sea kayaks with tight, restrictive cockpits requiring a spray skirt for safety in open water, STELLARs offer ergonomic open cockpits which are exceptionally easy to enter and exit and, most critically, far easier to re-board should a capsize occur-- no need to learn the "Eskimo roll" essential to righting a traditional kayak (we do offer instruction on the proper technique for remounting in the unlikely event of a spill).
And unlike traditional plastic sit-on-tops which are heavy, wide and difficult to propel through the water (particularly in a straight line), Performance Sit-on-Tops from STELLAR glide over the surface with ease, combining ultra-efficient underbodies with responsive foot-controlled rudders-- all at industry leading light weights. While it is possible for water to splash over the sides, all models are equipped with standard bailers and venturi drains to suction that water out with forward motion.
